Casement Park in west Belfast has cleared its final EURO 2028 readiness review and will host group-stage matches as one of the ten tournament venues across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The reopening follows a multi-year reconstruction of the long-closed GAA ground.
The rebuilt stadium holds 34,500 seated spectators across two tiers, with all standing areas converted to seating in line with UEFA requirements. The pitch dimensions and run-off zones meet UEFA Category 4 standards.
For EURO 2028, Casement Park is scheduled to host three group-stage matches and one Round of 16 fixture. The first competitive event at the rebuilt ground is a test fixture in late spring 2028, which is required by UEFA before any tournament kickoff.
Matchday access is via the Andersonstown Road approach corridor, with shuttle buses from Belfast Grand Central Station and Glider G1 service to Andersonstown Park & Ride. No on-site parking is available for non-accredited fans on matchdays; designated park-and-ride sites operate from Boucher Road and at Casement's east approach.
A permanent legacy plan returns the ground to Ulster GAA control after the tournament. UEFA branding inside the stadium will be removed within 30 days of the closing match, and the venue will return to a primarily Gaelic football and hurling calendar.
