The walk from the Cardiff Central concourse to Westgate Street runs through Wood Street and along Park Street — entirely pedestrianised on matchday from 4 hours before kickoff.

The Principality Stadium uses a gate-letter system for its turnstiles, and the city council closes both Westgate Street and Castle Street to vehicles for Principality Stadium matchdays; the same arrangement is expected for EURO 2028 fixtures. The pedestrian flow runs north-south along Westgate Street for inbound fans and switches to one-way outbound after the final whistle. UEFA tournaments have historically opened turnstiles two hours before kickoff, with the same window expected at EURO 2028 fixtures unless UEFA announces otherwise.

The stadium has a retractable roof — a feature unique among EURO 2028 venues — and the UEFA medical group is expected to decide on the roof position match by match. Based on tournament practice at recent UEFA fixtures at the venue, the protocol is expected to be roof open by default unless rain is forecast at kickoff, with the decision communicated to fans at least 4 hours before kickoff via the venue app and social media.

The Cardiff Bay area, south of the city, is widely expected to host the official Cardiff City Council fan zone for EURO 2028 host days based on its use at recent major events; formal designation is expected closer to the tournament. The Bay is connected to the stadium by a 25-minute walk via the city centre or a 15-minute bus from the Cardiff Bay Interchange. The fan zone is expected to run across Roald Dahl Plass with large screens, food trucks and a managed perimeter from roughly 5 hours before kickoff through to 3 hours after the final whistle.

The step-free route to the stadium runs from Cardiff Central via Wood Street to the dedicated accessible entrance on the south side.
