Wembley Matchday Alcohol Rules: What Brent Council Restricts

Brent Council has confirmed the matchday alcohol regime around Wembley Stadium for EURO 2028. The framework is consistent with previous senior tournaments but with a wider dispersal zone and an earlier off-licence cut-off.

A public spaces protection order covers a 1.2-kilometre radius around the stadium on every matchday from 11:00 to 02:00. Within this zone, open containers of alcohol on the street, in parks and at transport interchanges may be confiscated by Metropolitan Police officers.

Licensed pubs and restaurants inside the zone remain open and may serve alcohol throughout the matchday, subject to existing capacity limits. Off-licences within the zone stop selling alcohol two hours before kickoff and resume one hour after the final whistle.

Inside the stadium concourse, beer and cider up to 5% ABV are sold until the end of the second half. Spirits are not sold; wine is offered in hospitality areas only. Drinks may not be carried into the seating bowl during play.

Brent Council is also operating a controlled exit programme: fans leaving with open containers are directed away from residential streets toward Wembley Park station and the OVO Arena coach park. Stewards have authority to escort persistent offenders out of the zone under the order.
